Om Swastyastu! My name is Agus, and I’m a licensed tour guide for my company, Agus Bali Private Tours. You can call me Agus, as that’s how my parents and friends address me. It’s just easier for people to remember.I’m the third child of four siblings, born in October 1980 in the small village of Kamasan, Klungkung District. Growing up in this village, where most people are classical painters, I naturally learned the art from local artists. After graduating from high school in Klungkung, I honed my English skills while working as a shop assistant in an art gallery in Nusa Dua. Two years later, I decided to switch careers and become a tour guide, which has since become my profession and passion.
I never imagined myself becoming a tour guide, but I’m genuinely proud to have the opportunity to share the beauty of my country with people from around the world and introduce them to our unique Balinese culture. For several years now, I’ve been taking tourists on tours around Bali to discover the hidden beauty and introduce them to local communities, villages, and their way of life. This has been the perfect chance for me to hone my English communication skills through countless leisurely walks through Bali’s stunning countryside.
As I’ve matured and become more proficient in my communication abilities, I’ve been drawn to share even more about the island’s beauty. This certainly led me to become a tour guide, and it wasn’t long before I started taking people on wonderful tours around the island.
One of the many valuable experiences I’ve gained as a tour guide is a renewed sense of pride and appreciation for the natural wonders and cultural wealth of our island. I want to share this beauty with everyone who wants to see and experience the real Bali. As someone who has spent my entire life in rural areas, I know where to find the magic and hidden gems of the island, as well as the famous tourist resorts.
